Turkey has announced the launch date for its inaugural high-speed train service operating between Istanbul and Ankara. According to Abdulkadir Uraloglu, the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, the train is set to begin operations in 2028.

"The high-speed train will cover the distance between Istanbul and Ankara in just 80 minutes. This will be a revolutionary breakthrough, greatly benefiting our citizens," stated the minister.

Uraloglu also emphasized that there's a strong focus on the development of the high-speed rail network in the country. Currently, the total railway length stands at 14,000 kilometers, with more than 2,000 kilometers being constructed in just the past few years.

Next year, efforts will continue in the realm of urban railway construction, especially in major cities such as Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir.
